The table above provides information on a sample of participants in a medical trial. Each patient is identified by a two-letter code. For each patient, the table lists the patient’s dose of three medications – A, B, and C – in milligrams (mg), the patient’s age, and the patient’s sex – Male (M) or Female (F). The “total dose” is defined as the sum of the patient’s doses for medications A, B, and C.

Consider each of the following questions about the medical trial. For each statement indicate whether the question has an answer with a value between 40% and 60%, exclusively?

Bank depositors in the United States are all financially protected against bank failure because the government insures all individuals' bank deposits. An economist argues that this insurance is partly responsible for the high rate of bank failures, since it removes from depositors any financial incentive to find out whether the bank that holds their money is secure against failure. If depositors were more selective. then banks would need to be secure in order to compete for depositors' money.

The economist's argument makes which of the following assumptions?

Traditional multiculturalists rebel against the prevalent notion that the scholastic canon represents an objective assessment of academic subjects. They argue that the current curriculum bears the image of its creators; that is, it emphasizes the achievements of white Europeans, making only scant reference to other groups. Appropriate curricula, they argue, would emphasize the ability to understand more than one interpretation of data.

Anti-multiculturalists claim that the traditional canon does represent objective scholastic truth. They voice concern that an overemphasis on diversity in education will ultimately harm national unity, since it would encourage citizens to view themselves as members of smaller ethnic groups rather than as Americans. Conservative multiculturalists, who have recently joined the debate, agree, although with some qualifications. Their argument is essentially reactive. It asserts that traditional multiculturalists intend to remove Western thought and achievement from the curriculum, that their agenda includes a curriculum that is intended to promote white self-recrimination, and that the traditional canon is essentially solid.

Some observers suggest that a synthesis of traditional and conservative multiculturalism is imminent, arguing that a new school will grow out of the efforts to resolve the two groups’ differences. This seems unlikely, however, because conservative multiculturalism arose and persists primarily in opposition to traditional multiculturalism, in other words, it lacks the coherent ideology necessary for it to offer the hope of further clarification to the debate.
